LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish will host an Independence Day Celebration Along the River July 3.

Food, fun and fireworks will take place on both sides of the river from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

The celebration on the east bank will take place at St. Peter Catholic Church, located at 1550 River Road in Reserve. The west bank celebration will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, located at 2361 River Road in Edgard.

The event will also be featured on a live broadcast on RTC and Comcast channel 15.

Earlier in the day Parish President Natalie Robottom and the Parish Council will host the 9th annual Veterans Luncheon at the Louisiana National Guard Readiness Center in Reserve.
