66th St. John Sugar Queen pageant nears

RESERVE — Calling all sweet southern belles of St. John Parish, are you ready for some sugar?

The 2014 St. John the Baptist Parish Sugar Queen Committee is proud to present the 66th annual St. John Sugar Queen Pageant, “A Girl For All Seasons,” which will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at St. John Theatre in Reserve.

The committee invites all eligible young ladies from the ages of 18 to 22 to compete for a chance to reign as the 66th St. John Sugar Queen.

Contestants must be a resident of St. John the Baptist Parish and abide by the rules and regulations provided by the committee. The committee would also like to invite spectators from across the region to enjoy the historic night of sugar as we celebrate our seasons, holidays and traditions.

Tickets cost $12 and will be available to the public from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 6 and Aug. 7 in the lobby of St. John Theatre.

Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the pageant.
