Dog owners and dogs lovers alike are asked to spend an afternoon together next week enjoying their four-legged friends and raising money for the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The Rotary Club is hosting the Pups in the Park Charity Dog Walk from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 28.

The event is free to attend and dog owners are encouraged to register their pets, at a $10 entry fee, in contests including Cutest Dog, Most Unique Dog, Best Look-a-like Owner/Pet Couple, Best Talent and Best Costume.

Proceeds benefit the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at Parish Park on Louisiana 51 in LaPlace.
