Sydnee Louque, daughter of Kelly and Brian Louque of Paulina, is the Paulina Elementary Fifth Grade Student of the Year and the St. James’ Parish Fifth Grade Student of the Year.

Sydnee has attended Paulina Elementary since kindergarten, maintaining a 4.0 average while involved in extracurricular activities in and outside of school. Her activities include being a Beta Club member, president of the 4-H Club, captain of the cheerleading squad, member of the Glee Club, Garden Club and a volunteer of her younger brother’s Boy Scout Pack.

She is also a member of the local soccer and softball teams, as well as a dancer at Yvonne’s Directions in Dance.

She has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, an Accelerated Reader, winner of Science, Social Studies and Reading Fairs, along with competing on the PES Fitness Team.

Sydnee’s successes are attributed to the support she has received from her parents, siblings, grandparents, family members, teachers and God.

She aspires to one day become a teacher, who will guide others into becoming independent, responsible, lifelong learners.
