LIVE UNITED scholarships awarded to local students

LULING — United Way of St. Charles awarded LIVE UNITED scholarships to eight St. Charles Parish graduating high school seniors June 5.
The recipients received a one-time cash award in recognition of their commitment to community service and the positive impact they have had on the St. Charles Parish community through their leadership and service.
The award is intended to help defray educational expenses for attending a post-secondary program of their choice.
“This is the fifth year United Way of St. Charles has offered the LIVE UNITED Scholarship, and it continues to growm,” said Kacy Kernan, UWSC director of community impact.
“United Way of St. Charles is happy to be able to support these students who have made such an effort to give back to their community.”
LIVE UNITED scholarships were awarded locally to students from Destrehan, Hahnville and St. Charles Catholic High Schools.
The students who received scholarships from Hahnville High School include Matthew Cheramie, Kaylie Fabre, Brenna Vial and Bailey Wilson.
Destrehan High School students Sean Mathieu, Paige Priest and Marcella Saavedra received a LIVE UNITED scholarship, as well as Lynleigh Landry of St. Charles Catholic High School.
