LAPLACE — A LaPlace man died after being shot in the head Wednesday night, authorities reported moments ago.

At 11:21 p.m. Wednesday, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 200 block of Joe Parquet Circle in LaPlace at the report of a subject being shot.

When deputies arrived to the scene, they found an unresponsive male subject lying on the ground. He sustained a gunshot wound in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as Milton Clofer Jr., 49, of LaPlace.

Authorities said no one else was injured in the shooting.
