Repeat offender arrested for possession of cocaine in Garyville

GARYVILLE — A loitering observation led to a local man’s arrest for drug possession, authorities said.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were on active patrol on South Fig Street at 8:12 p.m. Wednesday in Garyville when they initiated an investigation of subjects loitering, a release said.

During the investigation, deputies arrested Craig Lee Jr., 25, of Garyville for possession of cocaine.

He remains in jail in lieu of a $45,000 bond and a detainer issued by Louisiana Probation and Parole for probation violation.

Lee has been arrested 20 times in St. John Parish since October 2006.

His former charges include but are not limited to armed robbery, terrorizing, attempted murder and drug charges.
