Performing Arts Dance Center dancers won many awards at several dance competitions this year. The dance company attended two competitions in Mississippi, one in Chalmette and one in Baton Rouge.  

Performing Arts had two title winners, two runner-up title winners, one scholarship winner, four crystal awards, 47 platinum awards, two double platinum awards, five 

diamond awards, two elite top firsts, 15 top firsts, six first places, six high golds and three golds.

Owner/Director Traci Marchetta said the dancers also received many special awards, and some members were chosen to attend classes in New York City this summer. 

Dancers were also part of a marching group participating in the Norco Christmas Parade and in the Krewe of DuMonde parade. Dancers received several first place plaques for best marching group. They also performed at the Andouille Festival.

The dance company performed their dances at the company’s 17th annual dance recital on May 31. 

The choreographer for the company is Ashlee Brister. Dance company members include Sierra Badeaux, Janie Bourgeois, Donavan Brooks, Jayda Brown, Adele Cooper, Liliana Dantin, Caylee Drexel, Katelyn Duhe, Madison Eugene, Chloe Genovese, Kyleigh Graves, Haylee Guidry, Jessica Hebert, Rebecca LaPrairie, Isabella Loupe, Aliyah Manson, Kaitlin Mizell, Paige Morales, Destiny Myers, Cameron Price, Kati Reed, Stephanie Richardson, Amanda Riviere, Lauren Rush, Alissa Stutzman, Madison Tassin, Karen Trichell, Lauren Trichell, Lyric Williams, Ashlyn Woods and Kailyn Woods.
