Alexis Froeba, an eighth-grade student at R.K. Smith Middle School in Luling, won fourth place at the state science fair for her project, Jacob’s Ladder. Jacob’s Ladder is an experiment that tests how electricity works and responds to different materials. Prior to winning at state, Froeba placed first at the school level, third at the district level and second at the regional level.
