Levi L.J. “Bayou” Laiche, 86, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday June 2, 2014.

Laiche was born on Sept. 18,1927, and was a native of Paulina and longtime resident of Lutcher.

Visitation will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Rose Lynn Funeral Services in Lutcher and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, at Rose Lynn Funeral Services.

A Mass of Christian Burial starts at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina.

Laiche is survived by his wife of 62 years, Iris Bourgeois Laiche; five daughters Nancy and Bobby Aucoin, Maxine and Henry Dornier, Adele and Sidney Roussel, Lynne and Vernon Guidry, and Colleen and Paul Trosclair; tw sons Barry and Sibyl Duhe Laiche and Patrick and Amy Poche Laiche; brothers: James Laiche and Albert Laiche; sister AnnaLea Oubre; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Laiche was preceded in death by his parents Levy and Ludivine Poche Laiche; brothers Raymond Laiche, Ferrel Laiche and Leroy Laiche; sisters Gladys McClung, Rose Boe, Audrey Beavers and Bessie Laiche.

He served in the United States Army and was retired from Colonial Sugars.
