LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish Parks & Recreation Department will kick off the summer swimming season with the opening of the Parish public pools at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The Eastbank pool is located at 194 Regala Park Road in Reserve, and the Westbank pool is located at 136 Castle Drive in Edgard.

The Parks & Recreation Summer Camp and other parish camps will have an opportunity to use the facility daily during private hours, and the pool will be open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays throughout the summer.

Pool hours of operation are listed below:

Monday: Closed

Tuesday-Thursday: 4-8 p.m.

Friday: 2-5 p.m.

Saturday: 2-6 p.m. (Westbank pool closes at 5 p.m.)

Sunday: 2-6 p.m. (Westbank pool closes at 5 p.m.)

In addition, the recreation department is administering free swimming lessons to 300 participants this summer through the Ashley Kelley Swim Program.
