VACHERIE — An early morning shooting in Vacherie has authorities working to uncover who shot a man as he lay in his bed.

St. James Parish Sheriff Willy Martin Jr. said Ansley Jackson, a male resident of 2157 Church St. in Vacherie, was shot one time in his bed at 5:10 a.m. today.

Martin said the shooter approached Jackson’s bedroom window and shot him from that range, adding the victim was intentionally targeted.

Jackson has been air transferred to New Orleans, where is expected to make a full recovery.

Martin said there is a person of interest in the shooting, and authorities are still working the case.
