Ascension of Our Lord recently hosted Spanish Fiesta and Crusader Country Hoedown events at the school.

AOL sixth grade students in Mrs. Fernandez’s class had a fiesta as part of their final project for Spanish class. Groups of students researched and cooked typical foods from different Hispanic countries. Students also did Powerpoint presentations on their country.

AOL faculty, students, alumni, and friends of all ages had a rootin’ tootin’ good time at the Crusader Country Hoedown. The event marked the end of the Raffle Ticket Sales Competition. Top sellers and winners of an iPad Air were kindergartener Alexander Melancon and his mother, second grade teacher Addie Melancon.

The grand prize winners of the raffle ticket drawing were as follows: first prize, a beach vacation package awarded to Tanya Martin; second prize, $500 cash, awarded to Janelle Williams; and third prize, six guest passes to the Audubon Institute, awarded to Chantelle Webb.
