St. Charles Catholic High School Senior Michael Morton received the St. Timothy Award, the highest award the Archdiocese of New Orleans can bestow upon a young person.

Morton, will be attending Tulane University in the fall, received the award when the Archdiocese of New Orleans held its annual CYO youth leadership awards at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.

Archbishop Gregory Aymond recognized outstanding youth from around the archdiocese for their service and exemplary stewardship of time, talent and treasure.

Morton is the Archdiocese Student of the Year for the New Orleans area.

In addition, Morton is the recipient of over $1 million in scholarships to various universities.

The St. Timothy Award, a national honor, recognizes, from the Diocesan level, outstanding youth who exemplify Christian service, Catholic leadership and good moral standards.

The youth who receive this award are outstanding in their church parish and the larger archdiocesan community.

These individuals have displayed high ideals and have grown spiritually while offering their time and talents in the service of the church parish and the community at large.
