ST. ROSE — St. Charles Parish’s The Magnolia Companies held a ceremony on Friday to dedicate the The Magnolia Business Center, located at 10557 Airline Drive in St. Rose, in honor of Henry A. Smith Jr., the founder of The Magnolia Companies.

The Magnolia Business Center is the 17,000 square foot corporate headquarters of The Magnolia Companies, a conglomerate in the fields of construction, marine dredging, housing, disaster recovery, material sales, finance, real estate and consulting and the St. Rose-based motorcycle company G. Smith Motorsports.

Special guests included U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu and state Sen. Gary Smith Jr., Henry Smith’s grandson.
