St. Charles man sought after girlfriend choked, hospitalized

A St. Charles man is being sought by deputies after his girlfriend was chokedĀ and hospitalized last week.

St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne, in a release today, asked for the public’s assistance in locating David Gilbert Wedge Jr.

“On May 4, Wedge was involved in an altercation with his live-in girlfriend,” the release said. “During the altercation, Wedge allegedly strangled the victim, causing injuries, which required hospitalization.

“Wedge is considered to be armed and dangerous.”

He was last seen driving a 1999 Silver Jeep Cherokee with Louisiana License Plate No. WAK343.

Residents can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-877-903-STOP. They do not have to give their name or testify and could receive up to $2,500 for a successful tip.
