LAPLACE — A St. John the Baptist Parish Grand Jury indicted 16-year-old Isaiah London Jones with the second-degree murder of Calvin Edmond III of LaPlace.

Edmond, 17, was shot in the head in Cambridge subdivision on April 22 and died on April 23.

Jones was booked with second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property and three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Meg Spatz of the 40th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said Jones would be arraigned sometime this month but a specific date was not available at press time.
