LAPLACE — Over 300 eager job seekers attended Saturday’s 2014 Summer Youth Job Fair.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Economic Development Committee, in collaboration with the St. John Parish Council, the St. John Parish School Board and local business partners, sponsored the fair at the St. John Community Center.
The job fair was an opportunity for high school and college students from ages 16 to 24 to meet and interview with local businesses in pursuit of summer job opportunities.
“The St. John EDC recognizes that our young people are our most valuable resource,” said EDC Chairman Rodney Nicholas.
“We hope this event will inspire young people to take an active role in our community by accessing meaningful job opportunities.”
