Riverside set for ‘Wizard of Oz’ show

RESERVE – Riverside Academy students and faculty are set to delight audiences this weekend with three shows of “The Wizard of Oz” starting their run Thursday night.

The play will run at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at St. John Theatre, located at 115 W. 4th St. in Reserve.

Tickets for children and adults are $10 each and can be purchased at the school or theater. The theater’s box office will open one hour before show time.

Nearly 50 students from first through 12th grades are participating in the show, as well as a few faculty members. The cast and crew, directed by Darryl Clement, have been practicing since March.

Cameran Hymel will star as Dorothy in the production, and Annie Tir will shine as Glinda. Angelle Lozano will portray the Wicked Witch of the West, Jess Lambert plays Scarecrow and John Kelley portrays the Tin Woodsman. First grade student Cailyn Borry will bark and walk on all fours as Toto.
