LAPLACE – The St. John the Baptist Parish Economic Development Committee, in collaboration with the St. John Parish Council, the St. John Parish School Board and local business partners, will sponsor the 2014 Summer Youth Job Fair on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m at the St. John Community Center on U. S. Highway 51 in LaPlace.

The job fair is an opportunity for high school and college students from ages 16 to 24 to meet and interview with local businesses in pursuit of summer job opportunities.

All participants must be enrolled in school and present proof of residency in St. John Parish.

Local businesses are invited to set up booths/tables for completion of job applications and on-site interviews. A list of available positions is requested.

“The St. John EDC recognizes that our young people are our most valuable resource,” said EDC Chairman Rodney Nicholas. “We hope this event will inspire young people to take an active role in our community by accessing meaningful job opportunities.”
