LAPLACE – On April 17, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives conducted alcohol compliance checks at 29 locations throughout the parish. The operation, which was part of a continuing effort to deter the sale of alcohol to minors, resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals for violating Louisiana Revised Statute 14:93.11, sale of alcohol to a person under 21 years old.

Detectives conducted the controlled operation that sent minors into retail stores to attempt to purchase alcohol.

In addition to the arrests, the retail locations where the individuals worked were cited by the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control for sale of alcohol to a person under 21 years old and will face possible fines and/or suspension of their liquor licenses.

The arrested employees were Sufyan Nas sar, 41, of Birdies No. 4, 483 Belle Terre Blvd., LaPlace; Lea Ann Joseph, 35, of Pit Stop Petroleum, 2701 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace; Phue Hoang Nguyen, 25, of Mom’s Grocery, 1170 River Road, Reserve; Amr A. Ayyard, 21, of Fast Stop, 2972 River Road, Garyville; Sherikia Johnson, 36, of Moti Carlos, 5353 W. Airline Highway, Garyville; Mozeb Khalad Moha   mid, 40, of Saints Ex  press, 3357 W. Airline Highway, Reserve; Mary Tuesno, 46, of Cheap Smokes, 1600 W. Airline Highway, La    Place; Suzanna Ma   rie Kliebert, 57, of Millet Quick Stop, 1525 W. Airline Highway, La    Place; Charlene Brown, 54, of LaPlace Travel Center, 4325 U.S. Highway 51, LaPlace; Bradley A. Scott, 20, of Pilot Travel Center, 4301 U.S. Highway 51, LaPlace; Louis So, 50, of Min Hui Mart, 601 Main St., LaPlace; and Shinita Cook, 27, Shell Big River, 1173 E. Airline Highway, LaPlace.
