Joseph “Joe” Denis Dufresne, 80, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at noon at his residence in Luling.

He was the son of Denis Du  fresne and Myrtle Z. Du  fresne.

He was born in Wallace and moved to Luling, where he was an employee at Mon santo Chemi cal until he retired.

He is survived by his daughter, Diahann Dufresne, two sons, Joseph and Steven Dufresne, three brothers, Marion Dufresne, Leroy Dufresne and James Dufresne, and a sister, Marie Therese D. Dufresne, all of Wallace. He also leaves behind eight nieces and nephews and three granddaughters, Jennifer, Anna and Stephanie Dufresne.

The family extends thanks to Reme “Jr.” Laborde, who was a very faithful and true friend to Joe, and to Canon Hospice and staff, especially to Nurse Lisa and aide Latoya, for the best care they provided for a short length of time.

It was his wish that his remains be donated to science.
