River Parishes Hospi-tal announced Angelle Weber Pray as its January Employee of the Month. Weber was presented with balloons, an Employee of the Month Certificate and a check for $100 by members of the hospital’s leadership team. She will also have her picture displayed on the Employees of Excellence wall in the main front entrance of the hospital.

Pray said she was “ecstatic and honored” to be selected the Employee of the Month. “I love my job,” said Pray. “Nursing is my passion, and I am fortunate to work for three wonderful physicians.”

Pray has been em–ployed at River Parishes Hospital since May of 2004. She works as an LPN/Clinic supervisor at the LaPlace Medical Center. Cherrie Broek–ho–ven, director of prac–tice management, described Weber as an employee who truly represents the hospital’s Service Excellence values.

The LaPlace Medical Center recently transitioned to a new electronic health record and practice management system called At-hena Health. Pray was instrumental in the success of this transition. She served as a “superuser” whereby she was selected to re—ceive the initial training on the new system and assisted in training other staff members in her office. She also assisted in troubleshooting issues and has been proactive in resolving them.

“Angelle continues to exceed the expectations of her job,” said Broekhoven.

Outside of work, Pray devotes a great deal of her time to benefit the St. John Relay For Life, in which she has led a team for the past seven years. She works year-round organizing fundraisers to support this event. She says she has had family members diagnosed with cancer as a well as a high school friend, and seeing what they went through and how they benefited from their support systems made her want to get involved. She also wanted a way to give back to her community.

“Angelle promotes camaraderie and teamwork in everything she does,” said Broekhoven. “She is a remarkable individual, and we are truly blessed to have her as a member of our team.”

Pray currently lives in LaPlace with her husband, Brian, and their two children, Gracie and Dawson. She enjoys camping with her family and is very involved with her church, First Baptist Church of LaPlace.
