LAPLACE – Preventative maintenance began last night at 6 p.m. on a Ruddock water well.

All St. John the Baptist Parish east bank residents and businesses were asked to conserve water beginning on Friday, March 7, until further notice.

Contingencies are in place for this process, but according to the parish, conservation is a critical component to the success of this project.

All LaPlace, Reserve, Garyville and Mount Airy residents and businesses should refrain from non-essential uses of water such as washing clothes, running dishwashers, watering lawns, washing vehicles and all other activities that require using large quantities of water.

Residents can expect water pressure to be approximately 20 pounds below normal. These conditions are expected to last through Sunday night while the work is completed.
