LAPLACE – The St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Arc of St. Charles, will present a prom for citizens living with developmental or physical disabilities.
The prom will take place from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on April 6 at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling.

The prom will feature refreshments, portraits, carnival games, face painting and a caricature artist.
The entry fee is $5, and the event is open to ages 12 and older.
“The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to
provide quality programs and activities that allow
all residents of our
parish to enhance their quality of life,” Erica Mire, coordinator at the community center, said. “We are proud to be
able to host this dance as one of the first public events at the community center.”
The Parks and Recreation Depart-ment intends for this event to become an annual offering.
