LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre held a press conference at 10 a.m. this morning with updates regarding the burglary and homicide at the LaPlace Feed Store Tuesday.

Investigators have released video surveillance of the suspects fleeing from the scene. Two suspects are clearly seen running in a southern direction on Redwood Street near River Road. One of the suspects is shown running with the cash register that was stolen from the store. The cash register has not been recovered at this time.

Tregre is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff Office’s TIPS Hotline at 985-359-TIPS.

Tregre urged the people responsible for the crime to turn themselves in and added that family or friends of the responsible parties who are withholding information need to step forward.

Two “persons of interest” taken into custody yesterday were questioned well into the night last night but were released by the Sheriff’s Office. Tregre said the two people have not been cleared in the investigation.
