Gisela Neanust Barré, 69, entered peacefully into heaven on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014,  surrounded by her loving family.

She was the Devoted wife of the late James E. “Baby Jim” Barré Jr. of 49 years, loving mother of James E. Barré III, Andrea “Nonnie” Barré (Billy Brady), Monica Barré Abadie (Harry Jr.), Angela “Lovey” Barré Comeaux (Gary), her companion/friend Chickolito J. Barré and the late Michael Joseph “Bones” Barré, proud grandmother of Holly Barré Landry, Torri Abadie, David Barré, Danielle Louque, Mandy Barré, Brandon Barré and Nina Barré, great-grandmother of Austin Landry, Alyssa Landry, Dayton Hession, Cyara Hoffman and A’Ja Remondet Barré and daughter of the late Eina Jeuke Neanust and Frank Neanust. She was the sister of Wolfgane Konig and preceded in death by an older brother and a twin sister. Gisela is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was a native of Ludwigsburg, Germany, and a lifelong resident of Reserve.

Gisela worked at West Gibson for several years and retired from Wal-Mart after 25 years working in various departments and especially in the sporting goods department. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, fishing, swimming, bingo, cooking and being with her German friends group.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve on Thursday, Feb. 27,  at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until Mass time.
