LAPLACE – As the St. John the Baptist Parish Relay for Life date gets closer, committee members are still accepting team applications for next month’s event, and an important fundraising event date has been changed.

The 2014 St. John Parish Relay For Life will be held on March 29 at the St. John Community Center from noon until 3 a.m.

It’s not too late to form a team, and anyone interested in starting a team can contact

Randie Bailey at Rbailey@stjohn.k12.la.us.

The next team leader meeting will be held on March 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the

St. John Parish Library in LaPlace.

In other Relay for Life news, the date of the Survivor Brunch has been changed. The brunch will now be held on March 8 at 9 a.m. at the VFW Hall, 205 W. Fifth St. in LaPlace. Survivors eat free at the brunch, and all other guests are $10. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
