Lutcher – St. James Parish Hospital announced its third Employee of the Quarter for 2013, Kassie S. Roussel. Roussel was nominated by a fellow employee and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for her dedication to the hospital.
Roussel graduated Magna Cum Laude from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with a concentration in advertising and a minor in business administration and sociology. She has worked for St. James Parish Hospital for three years as the director of marketing.
Roussel was nominated by Director of Education Carolyn Bossier, who stated, “Kassie’s positive attitude, dedication, bubbly personality and overall respect for everyone she has contact with is absolutely empowering. Kassie’s concern about the patients at St. James Parish Hospital is of utmost importance. She constantly reminds the staff of the importance of communicating with each other, the doctors and the patients/family members. She knows how important these skills are and how important our patient satisfaction scores actually are.
“Her goal is always to inform everyone about the great services St. James Parish Hospital has to offer. Every bit of her work is done to perfection when she places ads in the paper, makes flyers, event cards, updates our website and the list goes on. Her desire to reach out to our community has proven to be so positive especially when we see pieces like her Community Benefit Report. She is on multiple committees and takes each of these seriously always going above and beyond. In addition, recently she was recognized and awarded first place in the state for several of her marketing campaigns.”
Roussel said she was extremely touched by the award.
“I am so blessed to be able to do what I love, in a place I love, with people I love. I am constantly blown away by the amazing growth of our hometown hospital and extremely proud to work for an organization that is so committed to providing not only the most compassionate care, but also the best quality care. I am also very thankful to work alongside such dedicated employees that are constantly teaching me and always willing to help,” she said.
