LaPlace man charged with 7th DWI

LAPLACE – A LaPlace man was arrested last week for his seventh DWI.
On Feb. 6 at 12:38 a.m., a St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy on criminal patrol saw a truck swerving in and out of its travel lane.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop, and after
a thorough investigation the driver was arrested and booked with DWI, careless operation and driver must be licensed.
The driver was identified as William Boyd Jr., 49, of Sandpiper Drive in LaPlace.
Arrest records indicate Boyd was previously arrested six times for DWI since August 2007. Boyd remains in custody in lieu of a $100,750 bond.
