GARYVILLE – Barriere Construction has begun work on a road improvement project in Garyville that will last throughout this month.

Beginning yesterday, Feb. 4, crews

will continue to

work at Museum Street and Historic Main Street and continue on North Church Street and Historic Front Street through next week.

There will be a single lane closure at Museum Street and Historic Main Street from Feb. 4 through Feb. 7. Work will happen as weather permits, and updates will be provided to residents as information is received and closures occur.

The road work is in relation to the CN Railroad crossing improvements that began in the fall of

2013. All residents will have access to their homes during construction but are asked to use caution and look out for work crews and their equipment. All construction is expected to be completed by March 2014.

Road work signs will be placed in appropriate places to notify motorists of construction. All fire departments and emergency personnel have been advised of the construction work and have developed alternate routes for response.
