Ascension of Our Lord Principal Toni Ruiz (center) awarded plaques to Jasmine Williams (left), daughter of Robert and Letitia Williams of LaPlace, for eighth-grade Student of the Year, and Sarah St. Pierre (right), daughter of Dale and Susan St. Pierre of LaPlace, for fifth-grade Student of the Year. Students in eighth- and fifth-grade that maintain a 3.5 average or higher for the previous two school years are eligible to submit a biographical sketch. Essays are judged on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, service and leadership. Both students will compete at the archdiocesan level.
