ZERINGUE

Ray J. “Honey” Zeringue Sr. passed away peacefully at his residence on Jan. 20, 2014.  

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Fremin Zeringue, and his children and their spouses: Ray Jr. and Donna, Raynette Zeringue Martin and Mark, Renita Zeringue, Royce and Tina and Roy and Tracy; and his sisters: Hazel Z. Guidry, Gloria Zeringue, Annabelle Z. Schex-nayder and Donna Z. Vick-nair. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  

He was a lifelong resident of Lutcher, a retiree of Colonial Sugars as a superintendent,

a member of the

Knights of Columbus, a former Lutcher Volunteer Fire Department assistant chief, an alderman, and Festival of the Bonfires Committee member.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arcade and Elise Dufrense Zeringue, and his siblings, Grace Z. Faucheux, Myrtis Z. Lambert, Elsie Z. Guidry, Harry Zeringue Sr. and Earl Zeringue Sr.  

Visitation will be on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church mausoleum.
