The Hahnville High School Theatre and Music Departments announced their production of “The Pajama Game,” a musical with music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and text by George Abbott and Richard Bissell.
In this romantic comedy, the dangers of a workplace romance are exaggerated to hysterical effect. Conditions at the Sleep Tite Pajama Factory are anything but peaceful as sparks fly between new superintendent Sid Sorokin and Babe Williams leader of the union grievance committee. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when the workers strike for a seven-and-a-half-cent pay raise, setting off not only a conflict between the management and labor, but a battle of the sexes as well. It stars Neal Eli as Sid Sorokin, Samantha Kennedy as Babe Williams, Donald Morgan as Hines, Stephanie Chester as Gladys and Katie Abadie as Mabel.
The production is under the direction of Megan Harms with musical direction by Craig Matherne and choreography by Jamie Landry. The dates of the performances are Feb. 7, 8, 14 and 15. All performances will start at 7 p.m. at the Hahnville High School auditorium.
Presale tickets are $10 and can be purchased from any cast member or online at www.pajamagamehhs.eventbrite.com. General admission tickets are $15 and can be purchased immediately prior to show time.
