Forty-three students from St. Charles Borromeo School in Destrehan recently visited the Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge – Medal of Honors Grove during their annual history trip. Led by Lisa Benoit, middle school social studies teacher and middle school coordinator, the Philadelphia trip served as a hands-on learning experience to the social studies curriculum. The tour featured a visit to the Liberty Bell Pavilion, Independence Hall, Franklin’s Post Office, Constitution Center, Philadelphia Art Museum, the home of Betsy Ross and the Battlefield of Gettysburg.
