Reserve man facing burglary charge

LAPLACE- A Reserve man was charged recently with burglary of a business.
Dermayne Butler, 34, of Homewood Place in Reserve was booked on Dec. 26 for a Sept. 30 burglary that occurred in the 1100 block of Louisiana Highway 44, or River Road, in Reserve.
Detec-tives identified Butler as the suspect by using security video surveillance recovered from the scene. He had been incarcerated in Ascension Parish on unrelated charges until Dec. 26, when he was transferred to St. John the Baptist Parish for booking.
Butler was booked with simple burglary and simple criminal damage to property. He remains in custody in lieu of a $20,500 bond. Butler has been arrested 33 times in St. John Parish since 1996.
