SCC celebrates the holiday season

The holiday season is a very active time at St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace.
SCC recently celebrated its school Thanksgiving Mass. Archbishop Aymond has requested that Catholics throughout the Archdiocese send donations on behalf of the people of the Philippines who are suffering staggering losses due to the recent typhoon.
The Religion Department challenged all SCC students to collect money for this typhoon relief. All money, along with the hundreds of canned goods collected, was brought up during the Offertory at the St. Charles Catholic Thanksgiving Mass. The Mass was celebrated by Father Walter Austin.
On Thanksgiving Day, SCC teamed up with Marathon, Nalco and Poncho Roussel to prepare and deliver meals to the needy in our community. Each year, SCC prepares and delivers hundreds of delicious turkey dinners on Thanksgiving Day. Students deliver the meals right before noon.
This spirit of giving continues through December with students spreading Christmas cheer through visits and gift drives.
