Murder mars Thanksgiving in Convent

CONVENT – St. James Parish recorded its most recent murder following a stabbing at a Convent nightclub on Thanksgiving evening.
On Thursday, Nov. 28, at approximately 11 p.m., the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call regarding a large fight at Club 7002 in Convent. Upon arrival, deputies discovered one individual had been stabbed in the back.
Acadian Ambulance was immediately dispatched to the scene and transported the victim to St. James Hospital in Lutcher. The victim, Christian Allen, 25, of Paulina died of his injuries at the hospital.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office have arrested and charged two individuals in connection to the murder of Allen.
Kyriene Vallery, 22, of 6268 Convent Station Lane, Convent, was arrested and charged on Nov. 29, with second-degree murder. Walter Scott III, 27, of 9214 Central Project St., Convent, also was arrested on Nov. 29, and charged with principal to second-degree murder.
Judge Guy Holdridge set bond for both suspects. Vallery’s bond was set at $150,000 while Scott’s bond was set at $250,000. Both men are still being held in the St. James Parish Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office investigation of the murder is ongoing.
