Irwin Michael Montz, 76, was born on July 28, 1937, and entered into the gates of heaven on Nov. 29, 2013.  He was a native of Gramercy and a resident of Lutcher.  Irwin was a graduate of Lutcher High School and life long promoter of Lutcher athletics.  
He married the love of his life, Anna Jo Giacone, and is the father of Michael Carl Montz and Rebecca Ann Mickles and grandfather of McKay Montz, Mallory Bundy and Grant Bundy. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Abadie and Mary Oubre, and brother David Montz as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   
He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Marie Montz.  
He was an active member of the Lutcher Quarterback Club, SOAR (the Kaiser Retirement Club) and the Sandwich World Coffee Club, a life-long fan of LSU and an avid fisherman. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to St. Vincent De Paul Society in Lutcher.
Visitation and services were held on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date. Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, was in charge of the arrangements.  To view and sign the guestbook visit www.roselynnfuneralhome.com.
