LAPLACE – The United States Marine Corps Reserve in coordination with St. John the Baptist Recreation Department will be hosting a Toys for Tots toy distribution event on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Regala Gymnasium in Reserve from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Free food and outdoor activities will be offered during the event. Pre-registration is required, and toys will be available to the first 500 registrants.
The last day to register for the event is Monday, Dec. 02, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Regala Gymnasium. The child must be present when registering and a utility bill or I.D. must be provided.
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve members collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. The organization aspires to deliver, through the gifts, a message of hope that will assist them in becoming responsible and productive citizens.

Residents who are interested in donating to Toys for Tots can place an unwrapped toy in one of the Toys for Tots boxes placed in the lobby of the Percy Hebert Building at 1801 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace or various churches and schools throughout the parish.
