SCC art students create portfolios

The students in Studio Art 1 at St. Charles Catholic High School recently completed their portfolio designs. Poster boards were folded in half to make a pocket and their initials were put on one side. The initials had to follow certain guidelines and had to be one-inch thick all the way around. Six boxes were drawn behind the initials and students learned about line, shape, pattern, form and texture. Students learned about how line and color can indicate emotion. Reds, yellows and oranges can show anger and anxiety. These portfolios will be used all year long for students to store all of their projects. SCC art teacher Robyn Denny received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University, and she is now attending graduate courses at the University of New Orleans. She also taught college-level drawing classes as part of her graduate assistantship.
