St. James’ Luce named superintendent of the year

LUTCHER – Dr. Alonzo “Lonnie” Luce, superintendent of St. James Parish Schools, received the Louisiana’s State Superintendent of the Year award from the Louisiana Association of School Superintendents and Louisiana Association of School Executives.
Luce has been with St. James Parish Schools since 2007, and during his tenure School Performance Scores have risen, the district has been recognized for its technology efforts and is now a Louisiana Course Choice provider in part because of the growth of its dual enrollment program and the establishment of its own online virtual academy.
Luce has been invited to attend the American Association of School Administrators Conference in February 2014. During this time, the AASA National School Superintendent of the Year award winner will be announced.
