Wal-Mart cellphone suspects caught

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies recently responded to Wal-Mart in LaPlace for the report of the theft of 10 cell phones from the store.
After finding the storage case compromised where the cell phones were stored, store management re-viewed the store video surveillance and saw that two men entered the store dressed as Wal-Mart stock employees on Oct. 31 at 2:21 a.m. They went to the electronics department, put the cell phones in a backpack and left the store.
Detectives identified the perpetrators as Tri Lynn Kendrick, 20, from Reserve and Kailen Lennix, 19, from LaPlace. Both men were formerly employed with the store.
Based on the findings of the investigation, detectives arrested and booked Kendrick and Lennix.
Kendrick was booked on 10 counts of theft. His bond was $25,000. Kailen Lennix was booked with 10 counts of accessory to theft. His bond was $15,000.
Both men bonded out of jail on commercial bonds.
