Drug bust in LaPlace

LAPLACE – A narcotics invesigation early this week in LaPlace netted St.
John the Baptist Parish Narcotics Detectives a sizeable amount of drugs and one arrest.
Detectives initiated the investigation at the end of September after receiving information about illegal drug activity.
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 8:44 a.m., detectives
executed a judicial court ordered search warrant at a residence in the 3000 block of English Colony Drive in LaPlace. They recovered a cache of drugs: 8.5 grams of heroin, worth approximately $1500; 347.2 grams of marijuana, worth approximately $7,000; drug paraphernalia; and a shotgun from the residence.
Detectives arrested Dexter Jackson, 25.
He was booked with distribution/manufacture of heroin,
distribution/manufacture of marijuana,
illegal carrying a weapon while in possession of a CDS, possession of drug parapher-
nalia, drug free zone violation and two attachments.
Jackson remains in custody on a $211,800 bond.
