LAPLACE –  A LaPlace man was arrested this weekend shortly after he robbed a local gas station.
On Friday at 1:19 a.m., St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 4300 U.S. Highway 51 in LaPlace, the Circle K store, for the report of an armed robbery. The clerk told investigators that the alleged perpetrator, identified as 24-year-old Corey Dunn of Lemoyne Drive in LaPlace, approached the counter and lifted his shirt displaying what was believed to be a handgun. The clerk called 911 dispatchers and gave a description of the perpetrator, his clothing, the vehicle that he was driving and the direction that he drove. Just minutes after the call, a responding deputy saw a vehicle matching the description of the perpetrator‘s vehicle with its driver matching the description of the perpetrator.
