River Parishes Hospital welcomes new doctor

River Parishes Hospital welcomes Dr. Angele LaFleur, an internal medicine physician, to River Parishes Hospital and to the River Parishes area. LaFleur specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases, such as women’s health, men’s health, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, high cholesterol, heart disease and kidney disease.
LaFleur graduated from Archbishop Chapelle High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University. She received her medical degree in osteopathic medicine from Nova South-eastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and completed an internship and internal medicine residency at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Fla.
LaFleur is a native of Metairie. She enjoys reading, exercising and playing with her dog. She is married to Dr. Brian Helmstetter, an internal medicine physician who will join the River Parishes Hospital medical staff in Spring 2014.
LaFleur joined the practice of Dr. José Cuscó, internal medicine, in mid-September. She will be available on a full-time basis to see patients in the River Parishes Internal Medicine Clinic, located in the RPH Medical Pavilion at 502 Rue de Santé.
