LAPLACE — West St. John doesn’t turn the ball over often. But Holy Cross’ defense made Friday night an exception for the Rams.

The Tigers forced six turnovers to key a 23-0 shutout victory over WSJ in New Orleans, one of those going for a defensive score.

Rams tailback Jeremy Jackson missed the game with a shoulder injury sustained last week at Riverside. Bradley Borne started in his stead and rushed for 89 yards on 15 carries.

Austin Howard completed 11 of 32 pass attempts for 123 yards. The Tigers intercepted him three times.

Holy Cross’ Reed Gravolet booted three field goals for Holy Cross.

Tre Turner rushed for 122 yards on 17 carries, including a 72-yard touchdown.

Linebacker Matt Collett intercepted Howard and returned it for a score of 43 yards after Howard was pressured and his pass tipped.

The Rams outgained Holy Cross 125-52 in the first half in total yardage.
