Drug bust nets 4 in Reserve

LAPLACE – Four Reserve locals netted a handful of charges during a narcotics investigation Thursday.
The investigation was initiated when detectives began receiving complaints of drug activity on East 26th Street in Reserve. Detectives obtained a judicial court ordered search warrant for an apartment in the 300 block of East 26th Street. On Thursday, they executed the search warrant on the residence of Ted Edwards Jr., 26, and Dajerel Daguinod, 23. The search turned up marijuana, cocaine, several bottles of promethazine/codeine, drug paraphernalia, two rifles, two handguns and a shotgun. One rifle had been reported stolen.
According to reports, officials also noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from an upstairs apartment during the investigation. They proceeded to obtain a judicial court ordered search warrant for the apartment in question, the residence of Michael Sanders Jr., 32, and Ebonie Sanders, 36. They recovered more drugs during this second search, including marijuana, crack cocaine, promethazine/codeine and Xanax, as well as drug paraphernalia.
All four suspects were arrested and booked with a bevy of charges.
Ted Edwards Jr. was arrested and charged with possession of firearms while in possession of CDS, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of promethazine/codeine, possession of a legend drug, possession of CDS in the presence of a juvenile, removal of symbol required by uniform CDS law, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of a firearm and an outstanding arrest warrant.
Dajerel Daguinod was arrested and charged with possession of firearms while in possession of CDS, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of promethazine/codeine, possession of a legend drug, possession of CDS in the presence of a juvenile, removal of symbol required by uniform CDS law and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Michael Sanders Jr. and Ebonie Sanders were both charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of promethazine/codeine, possession of Xanax, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice.
The four suspects have since bonded out of jail.
