Medical service call results in narcotics arrest

LAPLACE – A Garyville man made a call for medical service recently but was arrested after deputies noticed some interesting house plants.
On Friday at 1:06 p.m., St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a residence in the 500 block of Garyville Northern Street for a medical service call. Lance Louque, 32, the caller, complained of severe back pain.
Accor-ding to reports, deputies saw and could smell four marijuana plants in
the back of the resi-dence when they arrived. Deputies notified narcotics detectives, who then obtained and executed a judicial court ordered search warrant for the residence. Detectives recovered five grams of marijuana from the residence.
Louque was transported to an area hospital for treatment and released. Louque was arrested when he returned home and booked with four counts of cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana.
