LAPLACE — After two blowout victories, prep fans wanted to see how explosive Destrehan would match up with a more highly-regarded opponent than the Wildcats’ first two foes.

The answer? They match up quite well.

Destrehan (3-0) rolled to a 45-14 victory at Dutchtown behind tailback Will Mathews’ 165 total yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Donovan Isom stayed hot, passing for 189 yards and two scores. He also rushed for 60 yards and a score.

Dutchtown (2-1) averaged 33 points in two games prior to Friday night’s contest.

LANDRY-WALKER 13, HAHNVILLE 7 — It was the second straight heartbreaker for the Tigers and a rare home loss to boot Friday, as Landry-Walker nipped Hahnville in overtime.

Quentin McDonald’s 15-yard score proved the deciding points in O.T..

The teams were tied 7-7 at the end of regulation.

Hahnville played without senior quarterback Dylan Keller, who was sidelined with a shoulder injury.
